Notes to Warhol photo series:
This entire series of (181??) photos is not in its intended order despite being sequentially numbered for an organized upload. For some reason the upload was jumbled into a mish-mash presentation. I have 86 websites and nearly 500 books I’m working on or have done. No time to fuck around trying to re-do it. What you see is…what you get.
This photo series originated from approximately 295 photos that were taken within a 1-1/2 hour visit to the Whitney Museum on the evening of December 14, 2018.
181 photos were kept for this series and the rest trashed. Approximately 30 additional photos were taken beyond the 295 photos and deleted in-camera. Photo editing and post processing took 7 to 8 hours.
All photos with people in them are candid, no posing or permissions asked.
Some photos from this series of art or art installations on display at the Whitney were not from the Warhol exhibit. Some photos from this series are not of art or art installations, but are of a documentary nature from my visit to the Whitney.
A number of the photos in this series failed to upload to WordPress. Numerous tries to re-upload results in further failures and additional problems.
I will upload the entire Warhol series to the Internet Archive. You can download higher-res versions from there. But if you view at the Internet Archive, they will not present sequentially there either nor are they easy to view due to the large number of images in the collection.
The Internet Archive has its own screwy file numbering system. You must download the files at the Internet Archive to view in the proper order.
In the future I will have to break down large presentations into smaller volumes as a measly 181 photos seems too much to handle here.
…believe me I could have easily shot 1000 photos in 3 hours if I wanted to work at it. But my site IS called ‘Photos as Afterthoughts.’
The cityscape night photo is a view from the Whitney’s sculpture garden…no tripod.
