The photos of Araki’s first book ‘Xerox Photo Album’ are photos I shot off a video monitor from ‘The Incomplete Araki: Sex, Life, and Death in the Works of Nobuyoshi Araki’ at the Museum of Sex exhibition in Manhattan. A person’s hand was shown in the video turning each page of the book. I can’t guarantee the completeness of the book or the correct order of page presentation.
Araki used a photo copier at work to make 70 books and mailed them to random people out of the Tokyo phone book and some celebs.

The quality of the photos in the book was poor as compared to the quality of photocopies of today. This is an actual photo of the book as shown in a display case along with the video monitor presentation of the book.
The long display cases of books in the center of the room are all books Araki has done which are +/- 450 in number. There were more video monitors built into the tables of books on display, but my time was running out and I could not get it all in…I had to shoot 6 projects at the Museum in 1-1/2 hours.
